- Try It Wheel Class
Try It Wheel Class
This class will not be available again until October 2023!
Let me take the stress out of wheel throwing! Throwing requires hours of practice and patience. Learning how to center is a journey that requires time and effort that many of us lack.
During our one hour session, I will demonstrate:
1. How to throw a bowl.
-Centering
-Creating the walls
-Shaping
-Glaze techniques for wet clay surfaces
Once I'm done throwing my bowl, I will center your clay (the hard part!) and make sure that it's in the center of the wheel before you create your bowl. This will ensure that you leave with a functional piece.
Once you shape your bowl, you will select your colors off of our color charts and paint your bowl in your desired style/color combination.
** This class is designed to give you an opportunity to try your hand at the wheel without the commitment of multiple sessions. For long term wheel instruction, we highly recommend Dew Claw clay studio in Pawtucket. **
Please book your preferred date and time below. Please include all information and payment information to secure your spot. There are no refunds on missed appointments - remembering your session is your responsibility! All work is to be completed during your one hour session. We do not hold work. Thank you for your anticipated understanding!
Once your bowls are complete, they are typically fired and ready for pick up in 4-6 weeks. We will call you once your bowls are fired - we require all work to be picked up within one week of that call. You can provide shipping information if you are unable to pick up. Unclaimed work will be donated.
