I hear “I can just do that at home”. Ceramic clay requires firing to extremely high temperatures (around 2000 degrees!) in a special oven called a kiln. Unlike salt doughs or ‘do it yourself’ plaster kits, ceramic is an heirloom treasure meant to last. If you would like to book a morning appointment between 11AM and 1PM prior to our studio being open to the public I require a $25 non-refundable non-transferable deposit. Don’t want to come to the studio? Order my kit to go and you will receive a raised print vs an impression as your ceramic ornament. I ship you impression material, press your baby hand or foot, air dry, slip in the prepaid mailer provided and send back to my studio. I will press in wet clay creating a raised print from your impression. I paint (glaze) to your color choice. Newborn name can be stamped into the front, other sizes will have baby name and age written on the back. SO much better than those at home plaster kits or self hardening clay. A treasured keepsake.
