What began as a hand-painted furniture, funky gift and (of course) handmade pottery gift shop has blossomed into the paint your own pottery studio you know and love today.
Weirdgirl is a Pottery Painting Studio in Riverside, RI. Art by You at Weirdgirl was created with fun in mind - for children and adults of all ages. The studio is the brainchild of Meg who wanted to create something that benefits the community and is also close to home for her family. Featuring "Walk-In" Pottery Painting (no appointment necessary), you can paint anytime and have your food-safe items finished in 5-7 days. All pottery MUST be picked up within 2 Weeks of the pick up date written on your yellow receipt. We are happy to ship to your home if you fill out a shipping form and provide us with a credit card and shipping info. |
Create memories with family and friends around pottery, paint, and some brushes. Unlike dinner out with friends, your product is something to cherish forever! No children are too young to paint! If you can stick your fingers into glaze, you can create a masterpiece (of course we have brushes and sponges too). We also offer parties for any occasion, and the entire studio can also be rented out for special occasions! We hope to see you soon!
Yes, the name "Weirdgirl" has a cute story behind it. While attending her favorite high school ceramics class with Mr. Katz, she opted to turn her slab built shoe project into a 'shoe-home' inspired by the 'old lady who lived in a shoe' children's story. While everyone painstakingly sculpted away at their shoes, Meg took it a step further to carve out intricately detailed doors and windows with children and pets spilling out of each opening. You're such a "weirdgirl" remarked Mr. Katz as he walked the room, and that stuck.

We offer drop in Pottery Painting at our RIverside, RI location 7 days a week.
We create beautiful, handmade home decor, wedding pieces, nursery decor, and other incredible pieces for sale here on our sister website In God We Trust Ceramics. We work closely with developers, interior designers, architects, and homeowners to create custom house number tiles, and other home decor and wedding pieces.
Weirdgirl boasts a large selection of bisque ware to choose from, timely and organized turn around times and pick ups, and a host of ceramic related classes, birthday parties, and workshops for kids and adults.
