A little bit about Weirdgirl Creations Pottery Painting Studio
For over 30 years, Owner Meg Jones has offered Pottery painting and spear-headed the Weirdgirl Creations Project. What began as a hand-painted furniture, funky gift and (of course) handmade pottery gift shop has blossomed into the family owned operation you know and love today. We are a Pottery Painting Studio in Barrington RI. Art by You at Weirdgirl was created with fun in mind - for children and adults of all ages. The studio is the brainchild of Meg, Kyla and Bianca, who teach full time but wanted to create something that benefits the community and is also close to home for their own family. Featuring "Walk-In" Pottery Painting (no appointment necessary), you can paint anytime and have your food-safe items finished in 5-7 days. All pottery MUST be picked up within 2 Weeks of the pick up date written on your yellow receipt. No exceptions. We are happy to ship to your home if you fill out a shipping form and provide us with a credit card and shipping info.
Create memories with family and friends around pottery, paint, and some brushes - and your product is something to cherish forever! No children are too young to paint! If you can stick your fingers in glaze you can create a masterpiece (of course we have brushes and sponges too) We also offer parties for any occasion, and the entire studio can also be rented out for special occasions! Yes, the name "Weirdgirl" has a cute story behind it. While attending her favorite high school ceramics class with Mr. Katz, she opted to turn her slab built shoe project into a 'shoe-home' inspired by the 'old lady who lived in a shoe' children's story. While everyone painstakingly sculpted away at their shoes, Meg took it a step further to carve out intricately detailed doors and windows with children and pets spilling out of each opening. You're such a "weirdgirl" remarked Mr. Katz as he walked the room, and that stuck.

What we do and Who we are
First and foremost- We are artists. Formally trained potters, all backed by our BFA's in ceramics. Kyla and Bianca earned their fine art and K-12 Art Education certification from Rhode Island College, and Meg from SUNY New Paltz.
We offer drop in Pottery Painting at our Barrington RI location 7 days a week.
We create beautiful, handmade home decor, wedding pieces, nursery decor, and other incredible pieces for sale here on our sister website In God We Trust Ceramics, and several fine retailers. We work closely with developers, interior designers, architects, and homeowners to create custom house number tiles, and other home decor and wedding pieces.
Weirdgirl also offers Paint on Pottery in their commercial space located in Barrington Rhode Island. Weirdgirl boasts a large selection of bisque ware to choose from, timely and organized turn around times and pick ups, and a host of ceramic related classes, birthday parties, and workshops for kids and adults.
