Skateboarding Clinics will be celebrating their 3rd year at the Bayside Family YMCA on Waseca Road in Barrington RI.
Sessions will begin the last week in April. Sign up for 6 week sessions at a reduced rate or pay weekly.
Lessons consist of flat ground, experienced teens offer tips, advice and techniques to younger skaters
in a safe and comfortable setting. Depending on the number of students, skaters are broken up into groups
for 15 minute intervals, working with instructors to master a particular trick or simply learning to push.
Time is spent talking about safety, proper shoes, helmets, pads, decks and hardware.
We use the money we raise from the clinics to obtain new ramps, rails, and recently we acquired a half pipe
which the boys will refurbish in time for the April clinic.
With the left over money generated by our programs we were able to sponsor a YBL team at the YMCA
for the 2009-2010 season. We at FAB were happy to be able to give back to the YMCA.
Without the Bayside Family YMCA donating space for our FAB programs we would not be able to
provide this activity at such a reasonable rate.
FAB is about raising awareness, being active, making good choices, being a good role model.

great food and shopping the downtown area.
