Private Instruction- Wheel or Handbuilding With Clay

Handbuilding with Clay Slab, coil, pinch, etc.....

Private instruction is offered at $75-$100 (includes 1 hour of clay instruction as you create your piece and an additional hour of studio time 3-4 weeks later to paint your fired pottery). This includes 2 lbs of clay, instruction, 2 hours of studio time, firing and packaging. The student will be shown a variety of techniques, discuss which project they wish to create and be directed how best to achieve that finished product. After completing the piece, it will be air dried, fired in about 3-4 weeks, and the student will return to the studio for 1 hour to underglaze (paint) their piece. After the second firing the pottery will be ready for pick up. All age appropriate. We work with adults, teens and elementary students. We work with students on school projects as well. Keep in mind your finished fired piece will be up to 1/2 inch smaller in size than you started with. As the clay dries and water is reduced the clay shrinks. Once the clay is fired the remaining water is reduced (fired out) and you are left with your bisque fired pottery at the size it will remain.

Private instruction in offered Tuesday or Wednesday for one hour sessions between 3 and 6PM, or Saturday mornings from 11AM-12noon or afternoons from 4-5PM depending upon availability.
All pieces created from wet clay will be food and dishwasher safe.

PRIVATE WHEEL INSTRUCTION 

Learn how to center clay and throw basic pieces on the potters wheel. Sign up for 4 sessions, once per week for 1 hour. Your 5th session will be held 3-4 weeks after your last wheel class. The 4th week is dedicated to glazing your 4 fired pieces. You will create a cylinder/vase, bowl, and mug. You may choose to fire extra pieces for an additionl fee.

$300 includes all materials (1 bag of clay, glaze, kiln use) 4 wheel lessons, 1 glaze session, (5 total studio hours), 4 fired and glazed pieces.

You can choose a mini workshop of 3 weeks, (1/2 bag of clay) Two 1 hour private wheel lessons and 1 hour glaze session 3 to 4 weeks later once pieces are fired. You would create 2 finished fired and glazed pieces during your 3 hours of studio time. Cost: $150

Private wheel instruction is offered Monday-Friday between 4-6pm. Weekend times are limited- contact us for availability.
