Pottery TO GO

We offer POTTERY TO GO!
Great for Birthday Parties, Scout Troops, Bridal Shower, Family Reunions and more!
Just pay by the piece.  There is an additional charge of $3 per 2oz of Glaze to go.  Pick as many colors as you wish.  (6 usually works well)
We can lend you brushes & glaze trays with a deposit which is returned to you when the brushes are brought back.
Directions written below, you can print, very easy!  The glazes are water based and do not stain skin, clothing or furniture, so no worries!
And glazes are non-toxic, lead free, and food safe once fired.
Prices start at $14-$20 for figurines and we have over 20 to choose from, as well as 15 mugs styles, 7 bowl styles, 10 plate designs and banks, switch plate covers, vases, plant pots, banks, wall signs and more.
The price per piece includes all firing, bubble wrap and bag for each piece of pottery.  Call ahead if you wish to order all the same object as we regularly keep 8 of each item in stock, but we can order if we have a min. of 2 weeks prior to your event. (*must pay in advance to order)
After your guests underglaze (paint with glaze) the pottery at your home or event, you will return the pottery to our studio where we will overglaze and fire your pieces.  Items are ready for you to pick up within 5 days.  Each pottery piece will be bubble wrapped and placed in it's own bag with the painters name on it for easy distribution.
*Please be advised that there are no refunds on pottery purchased to go. We cannot take back pottery once it leaves the studio, even if you have not used it.  The problem is that you may have caused a hairline crack and we cannot take the chance of offering that pottery to other clients as it may break in firing.  Cracks may not show up until fired at 2000 degrees and then the hairline fracture becomes a crack.  We recommend not purchasing extra pieces as we will not be able to take them back or offer a refund.  All pottery to Go sales are final.

Directions:
Have each person write their first name in a #2 pencil on the bottom of the pottery.  If more than one person with the same name add first initial of last name as well.  We will go over this with a glaze pen at the studio.
You can pour small amounts of glaze in the paint trays we sent with you.  Fill only half full in case kids forget and mix color you don't want to compromise all the glazes : )  Place a small bowl or cup of water with paper towels for drying.  Children can wash their brush between glaze colors and dry well on the paper towel.  Water will dilute the glaze so you want to be sure that they have a dry brush.
Glazes work much like a water color, light colors do not show up well over dark colors.  It is best to keep color independent of each other.  Black should be the last color glaze that is used as black will cover anything.  You would not want to paint a black pupil in an eye and then go around it with blue for the iris, better to do the blue first, let dry, then put the small black pupil over the blue!
Once everyone is done painting, let the pottery air dry, then put them back in the box you received it in.  Return to our studio the next day and we will go over all of the names in glaze pen, and dip in overglaze, fire, bubble wrap and bag, ready for you to pick up within 5 days.
If you purchased a party plate for guests to sign we will have pre-drawn a cupcake in the center in pencil and marked off sections on the rim for guests to sign their first names in a #2 pencil.  Smudging is of no concern, all that will fire away in the kiln.   When you return the plate to the studio with your party pottery we will go over all signatures and decorate the center and rim and add Happy Birthday ____________(child's name here) around the cupcake in the center of the plate.
Feel free to call if you have any questions, (401) 247-1397  we are in from 1-5PM daily.
