Create from Clay
Wet Clay: Mold/create your own pottery!
1 and 1/2 hour(s) of studio time (depending on project): All clay projects will be created and underglazed on the same day. Each piece will be air dried, then fired, overglazed by us, and fired again, ready for pick up within 4 weeks. All pieces created will be food and dishwasher safe.
Pricing is for groups of 10 or more for wet clay.
If you have less than 10 participants add a $50 per hour instructor fee.
Projects take about 1 and 1/2 hours to create and underglaze depending on your group. You will have the option of the last 15 minutes for cupcakes, pizza and juice boxes etc. if your group completes the project within the first hour and 15 minutes.
You will provide all necessary refreshments and paper goods if you choose to serve refreshments. Please refer to the PARTY INFO page for items that are allowed into the studio.If there is time you are welcome to open gifts.
Parties that extend past the 1 and 1/2 hour time period will be charged an additional $50 per half hour for use of the studio while not involved in a project. We hope you understand. Everyone at the party must be creating a project, just like a movie theater party. Everyone who attends must be counted as a guest and must be participating in their own project.
Parents of guests may drop off their child and visit the Center of Barrington and enjoy the shopping and coffee shops that are available.
Some project ideas/pricing:
$25 per person/ create a single pinch pot animal or crazy head ( see picture in classes section)
$25 per person/ create a double pinch pot animal or fruit/veggie shaker
$25 per person/ create a 6" cookie plate with stamped textured rim, add on cookie cutter heart
(or shape of your choice) in the center and stamp.
$25 per person/create a birds nest with 3 eggs and chick.
$25 per person/create a working volcano/ 3" x 4" made from blended coils on a slab base,
add lava, glaze in volcanic colors, once fired, add vinegar, baking soda and water
with food coloring and watch it ooze lava!
$30 per person/create an 8" plate with stamping and textured rim, once glazed and fired
your plate will be food safe! A Fun and Functional piece of art!
$30 per person/ inlay bowl with your choice of cookie cutter designs, coils,
and glaze the exterior to highlight the shapes. This bowl is food safe and functional once fired.
$30 per person/ create your favorite pizza slice with all the toppings! This will be fused to a tile
creating a wall hanging.
$30 per person/bird house/feeder. This vessel is created using a slab for the cylinder, cone roof,
cut out decorative windows, door, students may stamp with texture or design.
Hung by wire this bird feeder/house is ready for use.
$35 per person/wind chime. Create a top piece with a center chime and 3 outer chimes,
all created from clay, the design options are limited only by your imagination..
...all weather safe, ready to hang inside or out.
***$30 per person/ try your hand at the wheel, create a small vessel with the aid of our instructor.
*Add a $50 instructor fee for the wheel, minimum 6 guests.
* Just a reminder, it takes approx. 4 weeks to get your projects back. Each piece must be air dried, fired, overglazed, and fired again. |
